Jerry Lee Price
December 29, 1950 - January 5, 2024
Jerry Lee Price, 73, of Myrtle Beach, SC went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2024.
Jerry was born in the mountains of Ashe County, NC to the late Clalley Price and Maxine Allen Price. He graduated from Kennett High School of Kennett Square, PA and Computer Educational Institute, Philadelphia, PA.
Jerry retired in 2009 from ArcelorMittal Steel (formerly Lukens Steel Company) in Coatesville, PA as a Shift Manager-Steel Distribution/Heating and Manufacturing after 40 years of service. Jerry always said the “South called him back.” After retirement, he and his wife left the rolling hills of Chester County for the low country of Myrtle Beach.
Jerry was the husband of Lanita Ellen Terry Price with whom he shared almost 42 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Julie Ann Price of Millersville, PA; his son, Jerry Lee Price II and his wife Melissa Price of Oxford, PA; six grandchildren Victoria Bradley and her husband Kyle of Philadelphia, PA; Kyle Price and his wife Cyndie Price of Oxford, PA; William Henry of Millersville, PA; Hannah Price of Oxford, PA; Elizabeth Henry of Millersville, PA; and Charles Henry of Millersville, PA; his mother, Maxine Allen Price of Avondale, PA; his sister, Norma Wood and her husband Louis D. Wood II of Oxford, PA; brother-in-law, Louis W. Terry Jr. and his wife Debbie Terry of Crumpler, NC; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his dad (Clalley Price), nephew (Louis D. Wood III), and brother (Tommy Price).
Jerry was a kind man who lived out his Christian testimony daily. He enjoyed kidding and teasing people, making them smile and laugh. He also enjoyed reading, researching things, walking, playing with Abbey and Doc (his fur babies) and having adventures with his wife and family. Jerry was an active member of Grand Strand Baptist Church for 12 years. He previously served the Lord at Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church and Beulah Baptist Church in Pennsylvania.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20 at Grand Strand Baptist Church, 350 Hospitality Lane, Myrtle Beach, SC. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, 1000 SC-544, Conway, SC.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grand Strand Baptist Church.
